Solar Surface and Spots

Solar Surface and Spots

I took this image of Sunspot Group 904. I'm not sure if the number 904 represents both spots as a group, or if it refers to just one of them.

This is some of the highest detail I've captured yet. See that "static" or "noise" all over the surface of the sun. That's not camera noise. That's the actual surface of the Sun. When looking through the eyepiece, I can see this noise. If I jiggle the telescope a bit to shake the image, this surface "noise" moves with the rest of the image. Look closely just to the lower right of the sunspots. There's a bit of structure to the "noise."

I've included a key in the upper right to show what portion of the Sun my picture represents.
