We will be at the Quinte Mall on Saturday March 23rd from 9:30 to 4:00 pm. to answer questions you may have regarding the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8th.

Our next regular meeting will be on April 5th.
We will meet both In Person at Loyalist College – Pioneer Building Room P13
and Virtually via Zoom (details below).

Total Solar Eclipse - April 8, 2024

On April 8, 2024, a total eclipse of the sun will occur in Southern Ontario for the first time in 400 years, and will be the last time for another 375 years. In preparation for this event, members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) will hold an information sessions at:

Picton Library on Saturday the 2nd of March at 2 pm. - 208 Main St. W, Picton.

Quinte West Public Library on Tuesday Mar 19 at 9:30 & 10:15 am - 7 Creswell Drive, Trenton.

Community Booth at the Quinte Mall on Saturday March 23 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm - 390 N Front St, Belleville.

Belleville Library on Saturday March 30 at 10:30 am - 254 Pinnacle St. Belleville.

These presentations will describe what will happen, and why this event is so rare.

Safe viewing methods will also be covered so you can be prepared to enjoy this once in a lifetime event. In addition, ISO certified eclipse glasses will also be available to purchase. Come out and meet with members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) and learn more about the eclipse and your local astronomy club.
